This was a lovely four mile walk. We set off from the car park on the Bure Valley Railway at Buxton Station, following the railway line eastwards as far as the bridge over the river. We then followed the river to Buxton Mill where we persuaded Leighton not to jump in the mill pond and Levi not to go joy riding in one of the rowing boats. Those distractions behind us we followed the river on the opposite bank from Lammas. It was a beautiful sunny early March day as we followed the great loop of the River Bure around to Oxnead. From there we cut across the fields back to the station where we ate our lunch.
