Brampton

The 9th march was an overcast day but we had all so enjoyed the river walk the previous week we decided to walk another stretch of the river Bure.  Starting from Bure Church we crossed the river and followed the west bank as far south as Oxnead which was where we had got to the previous week.  Along the way we passed two mills and a weir which added interest to the walk.  On the mill pond at Brampton Mill we had a stone skimming competition which Dom won with an eighter.  If anyone wants to disagree with this they can say so on our facebook page.

From Oxnead we headed across the fields to Buxton station then headed north along the Bure Valley Railway path past Brampton and thenleft the railway to follow the Mermaid brook back to Burgh.
